 ABOUT US
The Girls Leadership and Mentorship Network (GILMNET) is an initiative of Global Alliance for Development Foundation (GADeF), youth development and philanthropy foundation that invests in the extraordinary potentials of young people. GILMNET was established in 2012 as a coalition uniting local, national and international girls and young women that are concern about the overall being of the girl-child or the adolescent child.

OBJECTIVES

Our main objective is to involve both girls and young women from schools, universities, private and public institutions to work under solidarity network toward empowerment of others through sustainable activities and rising awareness about girl’s rights, girl’s education, violence against girls and their future career goals.

OUR MISSION

It is the mission of GILMNET to end poverty among girls and young women by raising excellent leaders through education, capacity building, mentoring and provision required resources and basic needs as well work to ensure their successful living in their families and communities.

OUR STRUCTURE

A Steering Committee

The network is governed by the directives of a 11-member steering committee (yet to be launched) from various sectors and girls and women focused organisations including; the networks Executive council, Non Governmental organisations, District Assemblies, Traditional Authorities,  Corporations, Education and Health Institutions and among others

 An Executive Council

The network has a well-structured Executive body known as the Executive Council formed from the leaders of its member organisations. The Executive Council includes the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Organising Secretary, Treasurer and a Local/Club Coordinator. It is responsible for the day to day administration and financial management of the network.

A Secretariat

GILMNET has well-furnished Secretariat which is still under relocation and expansion. The network has a team of 2- working staff and associates who work full-time at the Secretariat, and a network of 6 part-time associates who work on specific programmes as they arise.

We have chapters in;

2 Schools: Acherensua Senior High School and OLA Girls Senior High School

4 Communities: Asutifi North District, Asutifi South District
